I finally got around to taking up the challenge laid down by Tara over at Sticky Fingers, of getting your appropriately aged sprog to do a portrait of you and post it. Perhaps the result is a just punishment for querying whether she really had no neck.
So there you go. Snigger who dares.

Absolutely brilliant. I love it!
I don’t know which is more shocking, the cauliflower ears, the stubby little legs or that blue and yellow striped top.
At least you got the full compliment of eyes, nose and mouth on your face though . . .

You look like you’re in a straight-jacket!

A masterpiece.
I have two questions … do you find it difficult to clap? Do you really have one leg shorter than the other?

I agree with Tara, arms and legs, reasonably sized – check
Lovin’ the blue and yellow top..Are those big yellow buttons on the side?

OK, I sniggered. However am going forth to demand portraits from all three children so that you can snigger back.
Are those bags under your eyes or very long eyelashes?

Perception is reality, or so they say. Why, you’re a fine looking father!

I need to gift you clothes 😀
I was thinking he would draw you in a black tee. But this is brilliant. You look great!

Forgive the communal answer. In reverse order of arrival:
Achelois, that could be interesting! I thought he might as well as pretty every item in my wardrobe is black or grey.
Mizmell, I do wonder what it says about his (our) psychological perception of me – that is, drawing me as a biiiig person rather than the stick figure I am in reality (well, my reality) is quite interesting.
Charlotte, the bags are real.
MuddyNoSugar, I have no idea!
Laura, I’m not going to dignify either question with an answer. Especially given some of the pictures of your good self extent…
RosieScribble – what can I say? He’s a perceptive young man.
Tara, yeah – he’s very attentive to little details like that. I also like the meticulous writing.

The lustrous eyebrows should make up for the uneven ears.
I will see if I can get Ada to do this. Usually when I ask her to draw something she demurs, so we’ll see.

Oh I hope you do!

My! You’re a handsome man !!
October 16th, 2009 at 9:32 pm
Thank you! Perhaps someone should point this out to supermum…
